Stand-Out Features

Alright, let’s talk about this bundle. This isn’t just a parts kit; it’s a three-course meal for the dedicated builder. You get the full-size PF940v2, the compact PF940Cv1, and the single-stack PF9SS. That’s three distinct platforms to master. In our shop, we call this the “trifecta” because it covers the classic duty-size build, the popular carry compact, and the slimline option. Having built all three myself, the real magic is in the process. Each one teaches you something different about fit, function, and the feel of a finished piece. The machining on these, from what we see on our bench, is consistently clean. No wonky holes or rough edges that need serious filing. It’s a solid foundation, and that’s exactly what you want.

Let me tell you about the finish. When these first hit our shelves, I was skeptical. It looked good, but how would it hold up? One of our guys ran a completed PF940Cv1 frame through three full cleaning cycles with Hoppes No. 9, just to see. Wiped it down, inspected it under the light—no softening, no discoloration, no issues. The coating is tougher than it looks. That’s a real-world test that matters. It’s not just sitting pretty; it’s built to be handled.

Strengths and Weaknesses

✅ The Pros:

  • Unmatched Variety: One purchase gets you into three of the most popular Glock-pattern sizes. It’s like getting a sampler platter of the build world.
  • Proven Platform: The P80 system isn’t new. The rails, pin locations, and geometry are tried and true. You’re not beta testing.
  • Quality Control: We inspect every one, and this bundle consistently passes. Clean tabs, crisp holes, and a proper finish. It shows up ready for your workbench, not extra prep work.
  • Durable Finish: As noted, our staff observation on the coating holding up to Hoppes is a real plus. You’re not going to mess it up with normal cleaning.
  • Jig Design: Having a dedicated, rigid jig for each frame makes alignment foolproof. It’s the difference between a stressful afternoon and a satisfying build session.

❌ The Cons:

  • Learning Curve x3: If you’ve never done an 80% build, jumping into three at once can be daunting. Each has its slight nuances.
  • Tool Investment: You need a decent drill and some basic hand tools. The bundle gives you the bits, but not the power tools.
  • Not for the Impatient: This is a project, not a quick assembly. Rushing leads to mistakes. Take your time, especially on the rear rail module and channel.

Best For

Buy This If: You’re an experienced hobbyist who understands the 80% process and wants to build a versatile collection. You appreciate having options—a full-size for the range, a compact for potential carry, and a slimline for a different feel. You value the project itself as much as the finished product.

Skip This If: You’re looking for your first-ever 80% project. Start with a single frame kit to learn the ropes. Also, if you need a completed firearm immediately for a specific purpose, this requires time, additional parts kits, and labor.

Your Questions Answered

Is this legal to buy?

As of our last update in March 2026, purchasing an 80% frame for personal use (not for resale) is federally legal. However, you must be legally eligible to possess a firearm. It is YOUR responsibility to know and comply with ALL state and local laws, which can change. We do not ship to jurisdictions where these items are prohibited.

What else do I need to complete these?

For each frame, you will need a separate parts kit (often called a “LPK” or lower parts kit) and a slide assembly (slide, barrel, recoil spring). These are sold separately. You’ll also need basic tools: a hand drill or drill press, a razor blade or X-Acto knife, files, and a hammer.

How difficult is the build?

With patience and the right tools, it’s a manageable project for a mechanically-inclined person. The jigs are excellent guides. The most common hiccups are ensuring the rear rail sits perfectly flush and clearing the recoil spring channel thoroughly. Go slow, test fit often.

Where can I buy Polymer80 online?

You’re in the right place. We stock them here at Glockpistolswitch. We inspect each one before it ships from our Lewiston warehouse, and based on our customer feedback, the satisfaction rate is high because of that attention to detail.

How is the grip texture?

It’s aggressive—in a good way. It’s not sandpaper, but it provides a very positive purchase. It’s similar to a stippling job you’d pay extra for. For competition or any situation where you need a solid grip, it works great.

Can I use Gen 4 or Gen 5 parts?

These frames are designed for Gen 3 component compatibility. You must use Gen 3-style parts kits and slides for reliable function. Some aftermarket Gen 4/5 parts may work, but Gen 3 is the guaranteed route.

What’s your return policy if I mess up the build?

Once you begin machining or altering the frame, it cannot be returned, as it is then a firearm component. Our 30-day return policy applies only to items in new, unaltered condition. This is standard across the industry for 80% products.
